Projects
There are a variety of projects we are currently developing. As capital is raised for each project, we are able to pay for materials and construct this projects in stages. The following projects have partial funding and we have begun construction.
Greenhouses for self sustainability and feeding the community.
Sanctuary of Betania: Building the additions and extensions to the original church structure. New foundations, roofing, chapel, clergy house, convent, Betania Choir chancel, and confessionary.
Betania Medical Center: Hospital that will serve the medical needs of entire surrounding community. This project has been fully designed and planned by architects and is only waiting for funds to begin contruction.
Farming Animals: Raising animals on the farm to provide food and coproducts.
Maintenance and updates materials to replace outdated or failing sections on the Betania Farm.
Check back for updates as we complete more stages of these projects year round.
Betania Agrícola Greenhouses
One of the great projects in development are greenhouses. There are currently four large greenhouses growing a variety of vegetables. Italian basil, cilantro, tomatoes, sweet peppers, and much more to come. The Betania Agricola group here manages all the planting and maintenance for this project. This project has created jobs for over 30 local residents that were previously unemployed. When harvest is collected, the crops are shared among the community with a small portion being sold in the local market for reinvesting the profit to purchase more seeds, pay workers, and donate to maintain the church sanctuary.
The Betania Agrícola group works weekly to maintain and develop the agricultural farm for this sustainable community. This is extremely important as the food here provides nourishment to the community and its families. This farm will also provide food for the future Betania hospital to make it a self sustainable medical center.

The Betania Lagoon - Completed June 2022!
Construction of Lagoon.
This lagoon project was funded by the generous donors Terry and Anna Darby. This project took two years to complete, but when it was finished, the site in simply breathtaking. This lagoon is 15 meters at the deepest part of the lagoon. It will provide water for irrigation to all the fruit trees and crops on the entire community farm. There is currently 1,500 tilapia also being raise in this lagoon. Additionally, it will provide water during the dry season for the future homes that have yet to be developed on the land. Words cannot express the gratitude we have to our donors. Thank you immensely and may God always repay you for your generosity.
Our Lady of Reconciliation
Having a great team is important with this mission. Our devotion to Our Lady of Reconciler of All Peoples and Nations helps us remember why Our Lord has put us on this earth. To love one another and help everyone in need.
Church of the Betania Sanctuary
We have begun the expansion of the church at the site of the Apparition of Our Lady in Betania. This project will expand the seating areas, the foundations, support columns, clergy house, chapel, and convent for the nuns. We began the construction of this project in August 2022. Betania Hospital February 2025
We have completed architectural designs and have received required permits to construct the future Betania Hospital in front of the beautiful Shrine of the Virgin of Betania. This hospital will serve the severe medical needs of the community and the surrounding 50 miles radius. We are currently raising donations to construct the first foundations for this much needed hospital. The hospital will employ over 400 local residents with jobs allowing them to provide for their families. The hospital will be the first medical center in Venezuela constructed implementing green building practices to obtain the internationally LEED-certification. Some of the key enviormental benefits to building a green hosptial are;
Sustainability:
Green hospitals prioritize environmental responsibility throughout their lifecycle, from design and construction to operation and maintenance.
Energy Efficiency:
They incorporate energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources like solar panels and wind turbines to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Water Conservation:
Green hospitals implement water-saving measures, such as efficient fixtures and rainwater harvesting systems, to minimize water usage.
Waste Management:
They focus on reducing, reusing, and recycling waste, including medical waste, to minimize environmental impact.
Indoor Environment Quality:
Green hospitals prioritize creating healthy indoor environments for patients and staff through natural ventilation, daylighting, and low-emitting materials.
Sustainable Materials:
They use sustainable and locally sourced materials in construction to reduce transportation emissions and promote regional economies.
Green Spaces:
They incorporate green spaces, such as gardens and green roofs, to improve patient well-being and reduce the urban heat island effect.
